No place is far from the cabins. From “Las Cumbres” you’ll be able to organize your stay in El Calafate and the best of all is that every morning you’ll have an awesome view of Cerro Calafate.
The cabins are located in “Aeropuerto Viejo” (Old Airport) neighbourhood. This name was given to the area because the first airfield used to be there. When the runways were closed, they became the two widest avenues of the city. That’s why the surroundings became one of the hotel areas with the most projection in the city, where you’ll find restaurants, pubs, travel agencies, a supermarket and a laundry.
“Las Cumbres” cabins are on 217 Armando Tola Street, 300 metres from the Bus Station. From this bus station, buses that connect the city with El Chaltén, Río Gallegos and Torres del Paine leave and arrive to. You can also take a daily bus to Parque Nacional Los Glaciares (Glaciers National Park). In the bus station there’s and Information Office (Centro de Informes) which opens from 8:00 a.m to 8:00 p.m.
On the other hand, Las Cumbres cabins are located at only two blocks from the main avenue in the city, Libertador Avenue; at just a 15-minute walk from the downtown shopping area and at just 200 metres from the Tourism Office, where you’ll be given maps and the necessary information for your stay.
You’ll also be able to take a taxi at “Remis Viejo Aeropuerto”, only a block from “Las Cumbres” or call to 02902- 490909 to ask for one.
Only 100 metres from our lodging you’ll find a well stocked supermarket to buy fruit and vegetables as well as meat, chicken and drinks. And at only a few metres there’s a healthy food shop where you can buy food for vegetarians and vegans.
The international airport “Comandante Armando Tola” is located at 19 kms. from “Las Cumbres” and from here transfers to and from the airport are reserved.
